Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation technique with a machine that uses crystal microdermabrasion technology or the newer diamond-tip . It is also sometimes called microderm or ‘sandblasting‘ and it is used to softens fine lines and wrinkles, helps to smooth coarsely textured skin, decreases the appearance of scarring, decreases pore size, and reduces superficial hyper-pigmentation, also known as age spots.
This technique is not the same as Dermabrasion, which is a more intensive exfoliation technique.
