What is this Treatment?
Everybody has Platelets in his or her blood and these contain numerous Platelet Derived Growth Factors (PDGF). With the help of these growth factors collagen and keratin production is being stimulated to say it in simple terms.
Typically, when getting this procedure done, it is a four-step treatment processes. It uses the patient’s own cells to reduce wrinkles and to smooth skin texture. The patient’s blood will be drawn (20 milliliters) and then it will be put through a centrifuge and spun. This will separate out fibrin and platelets: Both are healing factors involved in blood clotting. This is then injected into the face to help to foster collagen growth. The goal of the treatment is a gradual improvement of age spots, fine lines, and acne scars and to enhance areas, which require volume. Improvement of skin can be noticeable within three weeks and continuous improvement can be seen for the next 8 months as more collagen and keratin is laid under the skin.
Originally this procedure (PRP) has been and used as clinical tool for several types of medical treatments, including nerve injury, tendinitis, osteoarthritis, cardiac muscle injury,bone repair and regeneration and more.
This is a different approach to traditional methods: Instead of focusing on the inflammation, this new procedure focuses on stimulating the healing process. Doctors have found a 70% of those who received this therapy have shown improvement.
