Previously, the W Miami or also referred to as the W Miami Brickell was known as the Hotel Viceroy Miami.  Food & Wine named Viceroy Miami one of its top U.S. hotel experiences in 2010, while Condé Nast Traveler declared that it represents a new era for Miami hospitality.

According to Wikipedia the W Miami was acquired in 2016 by 
Qatari hospitality investment firm Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Al Faisal Holding. [3] Following the sale, the hotel was rebranded from Viceroy to W Miami. 

Besides the W South Beach and the W Fort Lauderdale, the W Miami is the third hotel in the W hotel collection in South Florida.

The 28,000-square-foot spa and fitness center at the W Hotel was designed by Philippe Starck, who packs punches of color and lots of his signature whimsy, like neon chandeliers and modern white furniture.
